East Asia Economic Caucus

by chrismoffat | Jul 10, 2015

The East Asia Economic Caucus (EAEC) was a proposed regional free trade zone suggested in 1990 by Malaysian Prime Minister Dr Mahathir bin Mohamad. The EAEC was a response to the absorption of ASEAN into the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation, offering a forum that would be free of influence from North America and Australia. The proposal was never put into action.
